A West Los Angeles wholesale and retail oriented full service bakery & dessert company is seeking a Full Time Baker Position.

Job Description:

This FULL TIME evening position is to bake all
items ordered for both our Retail and Wholesale Business. The current hours
start at 9pm and go into the early morning.




This FULL TIME position is salary based and is not your normal Monday thru Friday 9AM – 5PM job.



Although hours can be flexible, scheduled hours and days are all evenings and will include Sunday.





Your starting salary will be based on previous experience. After a probationary period, there will be an increase in pay once full competency of our product line has been mastered and
demonstrated. Future bonuses and pay increases are possible as determined by
quality and efficiency of work and overall increased success of the business.




Job Qualifications:

The skill sets required for this Job are as
follows:



  • Has a minimum of 3 years of baking experience or 5 years as an assistant (Formal Education/Training a plus) <we will not consider anyone without experience – no recent graduates please>
  • The ability to bake and decorate all cake and breakfast bread styles including wedding cakes, scones, and muffins. (creativity, fondant, and sugar work a plus)
  • The ability to properly lead, manage, and teach an assistant.
  • The ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and stand at hours at a time.
  • Has their Serve Safe certificate.
  • Ability to quickly and competently learn and produce the product line with timeliness, accuracy and consistency by following established recipes and procedures.
  • The ability to minimize waste and product costs, keep track of product usage and inventory to effectively and efficiently communicate and order needed ingredients from suppliers.
  • Clearly read, write, decorate, and speak in English. (Spanish is a plus)
  • Shows interest and creativity in baking and a desire to constantly evolve their skills.
  • Be computer literate with the ability to easily learn the basics of computer programs such as AccuChef and QuickBooks.
  • Ability to develop business opportunities which will be additionally compensated.

This is a 2 step interview process.





When called in for your first interview we will require you to fill out an employment application, show your ability to work in the United
States, current Serve Safe certificate, and
submit a few sample photos and any letters of recommendation from employers
and/or clients of your past work.





If called in for a second interview you will be tested in basic baking and decorating skills and be introduced to our assistant. IF time allows, the Kitchen Test may be done at
the time of the initial interview. If hired, the position will start as soon as
possible.
