As an avid collector of 'Rare' cookbooks, Brattle Book Shop is one of the best spots in all of Boston for me. I always head up to the third floor and seek out rare hard to find cookbooks. I Love searching out looking for the first published copies dating back to the early and late 1800's. Such "CLASSIC" recipes which are very much apart of my professional career. I always made it a point to remain classic in my training and technique as much as it was to more importantly respect the classic dishes that made cuisine what it is today... I beleive that from that it has enabled me to seek out such rare books and my Love for them continues to grow... While you are in Boston, be sure to check out Brattle Book Shop and ask for Kenneth!!!

Hi Chef,

You know what would be a great addition to SC and these super old books you go hunting for? You should publish a recipe every so often and share! I've seen the books you're talking about - the faded brown pages with withering corners and that unmistakable book smell! (I happen to love). Post a recipe for some rare, old dish.
