Best Darn Bruschetta



This bruschetta was probably the best I’ve ever had. The fresh tomatoes, basil and garlic paired with the melted mozzarella and crisp baguette was sensational! This appetizer was the perfect way to start off my date night on Friday, afterall the way to my heart is through food!

“Hot Like Wasabi When I Bust Rhymes”- Wasabi Pea Encrusted Tofu

I am a huge fan of crunchy wasabi peas. I first got into wasabi peas when I was living in Gainesville (Go Gators!). A great art festival would come around twice a year and I always looked forward to the typical festival food. Not that I actually purchased any of the funnel cakes, cotton candy or ice cream sundae’s dripping in hot fudge and whipped cream. I did my best to keep my festival food consumption to a minimum.

Hey Janah! I just saw your update that you are coming to LA next week and want veggie suggestions. I'm not a vegetarian, but I sometimes 'swing' that way :) Here are some suggestions that I and my herbivore friends go to: 1) XIV - just went 2 weeks ago and there is a "secret" vegetarian menu you have to ask for. They create a vegetarian offering each week it turns out. It was a scrumptious risotto that week. Just a note - she didn't feel completely "full" after. 2) Thai town - Go to any of the Thai places in Thai Town (just head east on Sunset until the signs start turning into Thai) and you can get amazing vegetarian dishes! 3) Real Food Daily - just a basic healthy, vegetarian place - probably more of a lunch place. 4) M Chaya - (on Melrose). Also more of a lunch or very casual dinner place. Their Kale with spicy peanut sauce is my addiction.
