Can one of you recommend a good restaurant in the Silverlake area? Somewhere around the $$ range, good vibe, obviously good food...no type in particular.

Speaking of another one near the Oyster House is "Cedar House" at Whitsett and Riverside. Just awesome!

The Oyster House! Talk about a blast from my past. I spent many of night in the concrete jungle. Not to mention the Clam Chowder is awesome!

welcome ariste, danielle, asgeir, and adam! Hopefully we can load up this group with some yummy recs :).

Ariste - I'll have to check out Oyster House...I am an oyster FANATIC..and I like my oysters pure - no cocktail sauce (yuk!), no fancy mignonettes for this girl..i want to TASTE those bad boys.

I'll add some my favorites soon...work beckons!

Dive-y is my favorite. The more low-down the better. Speaking of low-down, I went to the Oyster House for the first time (Moorpark & Whitsett) and was in heaven. Yummy goodness. Not expensive, great food, cheap booze, regulars camped out at the bar, what more can you ask for?
